THE CHALLENGES

This office building wanted to add a unique water feature to its lobby as the main draw for people entering. The feature needed to be the center piece of its lobby and create both a visual and auditory ambience.

The client wanted the water flow like a stream, from its upper floor down to the lobby and create comforting sound that helped put visitors at ease.

We listened carefully to the client’s needs, examined their drawings and ideas, and crafted a plan that they felt very excited about. We sourced all of our stone materials locally, and over the course of several weeks, created a water feature that captured visitors attention both visually and audibly. We used a combination of flagstone, sandstone, travertine tile, granite, and river rock to create this one-a-kind of attraction.

PROJECT GOALS

  • The feature must create enough sound of water trickling and falling to help put visitors at ease when they enter.
  • The water feature must be large enough to capture visitors' attention immediately as they entered they lobby.
  • The water feature must offer seating allowing visitors to come close enough to the water to enjoy a pleasant experience.
  • The water feature must have a desert Southwest appearance, and use locally sourced stone.
  • All work had to be done during business hours, meaning careful attention must be made to keep visitors safe.
